On 18th of March, from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm in the Sala Multiusos of the building ID of the Campus FCSH of NOVA University, there will be a meeting titled “Figuras do Sincretismo: as Festas do Divino Espírito Santo em Terreiros de Tambor de Mina”.The subjects of the event, organized by the CRIA (http://cria.org.pt/site/), will be the speeches around the Africanism’s paradigm as a construction made up by anthropologists and the “Pais e Mais de Santos” togheter. With a particolar attention to some of the most peculiar fests of “tambor de Mina”, as the ones of Sao Luis’ city (Maranhào Piauì, Brazil), the meeting will provide some critical lectures linking the category of religious syncretism to these latters rituals. The purpose is to expose the conditions of a critical point of view good for go beyond the mere recycling of the commons features of these cultural manifestations.
